The purpose of the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Coalition is to foster environmental stewardship through:
- Serving as a forum for innovative development practices, policies and regulations;
- Researching and promoting environmental stewardship development;
- Educating Coalition members, communities, organizations, and policy makers in the Lower Cape Fear region;
- Soliciting and recognizing environmental stewardship development efforts through awards and other incentives; and,
- Organizing and producing the Annual Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Awards Program™.
