Mission Statement
The mission of the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Coalition is to encourage and recognize outstanding development that protects, conserves, improves, and provides awareness of our natural resources in the Lower Cape Fear region.
History
Since 2005, the Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Coalition has annually recognized development projects that demonstrate outstanding environmental stewardship through the protection, conservation, improvement, and awareness of our natural resources. This regional awards and education program also honors development professionals who go the extra mile and take the time to plan, design, and build creatively in an environmentally responsible manner. The Coalition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with a governing council consisting of county and state agencies, businesses, and administrative programs. The Coalition was modeled after a successful program in South Carolina.
